Short Pump, Virginia

Cambridge Church

It is a busy day at Cambridge church. Just like they do in school, children move up in grades. Those who were in the nursery, now move to the children's classes. Some of them receive their first Bibles.

Jim Riddell, who was interim pastor at the church for over two years, returns for the day and speaks at the service.

Pastor Jay Smith invites everyone in attendance to stay for the dedication of a new children's playground and dinner on the grounds, followed by an a cappella choral concert.

Children race to try out the new equipment ...

... the new helicopter that tilts and has rotors that turn is a particular favorite ...

... followed by the slide, which the boys push to the limit. Liam, foreground, and Christopher, at the top of the slide, may be years apart in age but equally bold.

On the other side of the building, adults line up for dinner and move under the tent to eat at tables or ...

... sprawl out on the grass to share a blanket like Harper, left, and Aubrey, right, while ...

... nearby Sophie, left, and Liam, right, with Shannon, hidden from view, invent a new race.

GREAT pictures from today - as usual. I really love the pictures of the kids on the playground. The joy and excitement is almost tangible through those images. Amazing job of capturing all of those moments!
