Harveys Creek, Kilmarnock, White Stone & Short Pump, Virginia
Harveys Creek

Light begins to spill across Harveys Creek and the day begins.

Ken points out the beginnings of the new day from his front yard.

Clouds moving through promise clearing and warmth later in the day.

Media professionals gather at Crab Cove farmhouse to review and celebrate work done this past year.

Anita demonstrates the editing process.

Kilmarnock

Late afternoon light highlights the new green of winter ground cover at Bondfield Farm. The farm was established in 1806 near Kilmarnock.

Sweet light illuminates a building in downtown Kilmarnock. When the sun dipped behind the buildings along Main Street the temperature dropped noticeably by several degrees.

White Stone

Sunset from the top of the Rappahannock River bridge near White Stone.

West Point

Crossing the Mattaponi River into West Point, the remainder of today's light silhouettes the paper mill that dominates the town.

Finally home with Dianne and Sadie. There is fire in the fireplace warming the house from a cold fall night.

... while she doesn't get to capitalize on it, she's still pretty happy.

Second Sunday in Advent

It is the second Sunday in Advent at Cambridge church and ...

... brothers Caleb, left, and Keegan, right, light the first and second candles ...

... while their parents Price, left, and Kelley, right, read the devotional as sister and brother Harper and Liam look on look on from their arms.

Kathryn adds her beautiful solo voice to the service ...

... which today includes communion.

Alan choses today to join the fellowship of the church.

At the close of the service, Shannon takes in decorations at the church from the arms of her uncle Dakota.

Daily Grind

Farris received a lighted glass as part of some band swag. It flashes through three different colors, lighting up his face.

Jenine wears a cross brought back by Edna from a trip to the Mediterranean.

Jenine mugging in my hat.

Farris displays a tattoo he drew on his arm with temporary ink. In the background Jenine works on another one.

Jenine is learning to knit. Note the tattoo on her right hand.

The Fan District

Wall plaque at Joe's Inn in the Fan. I have no idea who Aunt Shirley was, but she must have been special ... and a character.

Joe's is the kind of neighborhood place where you can tether your dog to the wrought iron outside while grabbing a bite to eat inside.

Kristi at Joe's for lunch. No ... the dog is not hers.

First frost of the season. It is 31 degrees F/-0.5 degrees C this morning. Winter seems closer each day. This weekend should see soberingly lower temperatures.

Jenine perfects her wither look. She looks to my daughter, Sherianne, as the exemplar of the art. Personally, I never knew such a thing had to be perfected. I thought such looks are genetic, inherent to the gender, passed along on the X chromosome from mother to daughter.

Sadie waits for her second favorite part of the day — Bedtime!
