Chicago, Illinois
Religious Communicators Congress

The hands of Ken Medema grace the keyboards. I first encountered Medema 30 years ago at a conference in Georgia. He is an incredible an incredible talent. He is also blind ...

... my children wore the grooves out a couple of records of his when they were young.

This image is close to becoming a cliche for me. But guitarists fingering and picking — and hands in general — are a fascination for me.

Mitch Albom — the author of Tuesdays with Morrie and Have a Little Faith — spoke at the conference this evening and signed books for participants, including Ralph Singh.

One of my images was picked up and critiqued by Gary Fong on WeArePhotographers.com. Among my colleagues, a critique by Fong is called "Running the gauntlet." He's tough. Fong is a Pulitzer judge and a close friend. I think he let me off easy ... and for the record, we are both old ... sorry Gary.
